Five FamiliesPlay

Privacy

Five Families (“the game”) is a fictional browser strategy title. This policy describes what the app stores when you play. It is written for Google sign-in and AdSense review as well as for players.

Account

Production sign-in uses Google OAuth. We receive the email, display name, and avatar the provider sends, and we store the email so a save can attach to an account. We do not post your Google identity on leaderboards, the blotter, or any public page. The public name is the street name you choose at the sit-down.

Game data

We store street name, mug shot id, borough, family affiliation (or Unaffiliated), cash, parked cash, debt, heat, moves, vehicle, hired ranks, inventory weights, tutorial progress, and event logs needed to run the city. Street names, mug shots, and some of that dossier appear on public leaderboards by design. Family table chat is stored as pulp lines attached to a family, not to your Google identity. Do not put secrets in a street name or at the table.

Advertising

If the operator sets NEXT_PUBLIC_ADSENSE_CLIENT, public pages and a slim play-screen banner may load Google AdSense. Google may then set advertising cookies according to their policies. No publisher id is hardcoded in this repository. Sign-in screens do not carry ad units.

Development logins

When the server runs with NODE_ENV=development, a local login can create a user record that never talks to Google. That path is disabled in production.

Contact

Questions about a save or a street name can be sent to the operator of the deployed site. Early development may reset databases; do not treat a sitting as permanent until the city is announced as live.
